cheerleader? football player?

Last Friday night we went to Scott's little sisters football game to watch her cheer. She is a senior at Linden High School this year. We go to watch her, but I know Scott watches the game more than the cheerleaders and I watch the cheerleaders more than the game. We are there none the less!

At half time I was sitting there talking to my step MIL and she was asking if I'd felt the baby move any. I was telling her how I was thinking it would be any day now and I'm always feeling for it and during this conversation, THE BABY KICKED! I couldn't believe it. I grabbed my side and was like uhh I think it just kicked. And sure enough a few seconds later it kicked again! It did it a couple more times after that then stopped. When we got home I crawled up in Scott's recliner with him and made him keep his hands on my tummy in hopes that the baby would move again. And it did! Just once then that was it. I haven't felt it again since then though. Bummer! But I know it won't be long before I do again.

The baby kicked during half time when the band was playing so I told Scott I think it got excited about it's future in the band. He totally disagreed and said HE is excited about being a FOOTBALL player. My brother said "It could be a cheerleader." :)

**I would upload some pictures from my phone but I can't get them to cooperate. I'm open for any advice. I email them to me then save it to my computer but every way that I send them (actual size, small, medium or large) it still uploads them all small!**

Oh, and by the way, we did not get the guest bedroom furniture moved into storage as I was hoping for. But in Scott's defense, we woke up Saturday morning and it was raining and rained til that afternoon. We had a nice relaxing morning drinking coffee on the porch watching the rain and I think we needed that much more than moving the furniture anyway! Oh well.. maybe next weekend! (My husband teaches me patience more and more everyday without ever even knowing it.)

17 weeks

I went to the doctor yesterday morning and all is good. I heard the heart beat again and heard the baby moving around. He/she was very active! We may have a hyper child on our hands. His/Her heartbeat was great and by this time next month I will no longer have to refer to the baby as "him/her" or "he/she"! =)

I still haven't felt any movement but I have been trying really hard to feel it at night when I lay down. The doctor said I should be feeling it any day now. I really think I should soon after hearing how active he/she was today! Maybe I should start playing the baby some good tunes at night to get him/her kickin' around.

October 19th we'll find out what our little love is!

I.CAN.NOT.WAIT.

I imagine shortly after my appointment there will be a shopping spree for me! This baby needs some BLUE or PINK! Enough neutral already. Although I do love the things I've gotten so far, I just can't wait to pick out some sweet little bows or cute little "sporty" stuff!

On another note.. I am hoping, praying and keeping my fingers crossed that my husband sticks to his word and we get the guest bedroom (soon to be baby room) cleaned out this weekend! It's gonna be a big chore. We've got to get a storage building to put the old furniture in because he doesn't want to get rid of it for when we move into a bigger house and need it. If it were up to me it'd be in the dumpster. I hate it. But, you've gotta pick and choose your battles and this one I've lost. Oh well. I've been bugging him about getting the furniture out since we got the baby bed and he said this weekend is the weekend. We shall see. Stay tuned for that one. Oh how I love my sweet husband. He just tends to take his sweet time with things sometimes. ;) I can't help it. I'm "nesting" I guess. Isn't that what they call it?

Also, SUPER excited about getting to spend some time this weekend with this little cutie! AND her fun parents too of course!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

15 week bump

I promise I'm happy. I wasn't planning on sharing this picture but for some reason I've been terrible about taking pictures of my growing belly so here it is. This was Monday when I got home from work, before I did my prenatal yoga DVD. Maybe that's why I'm not smiling. It's a monday, my clothes are all too tight and I'm about to make myself do yoga instead of going straight to the couch. :)

I saw this list of questions on another blog and I liked it so I snagged it!

How far along: 15 weeks

Size of baby: the size of an avocado

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I don't know.. I'm not weighing myself at home. (so that I don't fret over weight gain!) I'm letting the doctor take care of that and I forgot to ask what the weight change was last month when I went.

Maternity Clothes: Bee band is my hero. Still in my old pants for now but really hoping to be in my maternity pants in the next couple of weeks because my regular pants are getting a little snug on the back side. Shirts, I need to go shopping for more but I'm managing with what old "regular" shirts I have and the few maternity tops I've already bought.

Gender: I have a feeling it's a girl, but I had two dreams last weekend that it was a boy!

Movement: no movement yet.. can't wait to feel some "butterflies or kicking"

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good, better than I was in the beginning. I still have to wake up almost everynight to use the bathroom.

What I miss: sushi, BAD!

What I'm looking forward to: feeling the baby kick and finding out the sex

Cravings: sonic cheddar peppers, pb&j and cheetos

Symptoms: just moody =/ (my hubby is a saint!)

Best Moment this week: Read that this week the baby can hear voices and music. We've been listening to Jack Johnson in the morning while getting ready. This morning was Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Happy Hump Day! We're looking forward to more football and the fair this weekend! And enjoying these nice cool mornings.. come on FALL!

random

Last weekend I went to Hobby Lobby in search of a pretty fall wreath for our front door. HOLY COW! Those things are WAY over priced. What's the deal? Even at 50% off they were $40-$70.

No thank you!

So I inspected them and decided I could buy the things to make my own wreath. So, I did! And spent $12. If I would have bought enough to go all around the wreath and really fill it up it would have been more money, but I was going for something a little different.

I'm pretty proud of our new front door, also. It has been green since we bought the house and I've always hated it. When I say green, I don't mean a shade of green, but just plain ole GREEN. Yuck. A few weeks ago I painted it and Scott put new hardware on it. No more green and gold! We are movin' on up. :)

Stupid Iphone picture is small and I don't know why? The ones from the other day loaded fine but this one is not. Oh well, you get the idea.

The sky was absolutely GORGEOUS Saturday night. I was in awe. I LOVE the sunset across our front yard/neighbors pasture. And I really wish I could get this picture to enlarge!

I forgot about this song. It's from Jack Johnson's CD "Sleep through the Static" which came out probably about 2 years ago. I was listening to Jack this morning while getting ready and it came on and I remembered it was another one of mine and Scott's songs. We have lots of songs. I guess when I say it's one of our songs it's one that either Scott or I said reminds us of each other and feel all romantical and sweet when we listen to it. :) LOVE this song!

WHO ALL IS READY FOR SOME COLLEGE FOOTBALL THIS WEEKEND?!? :)

I'm in my second trimester now! Here's a prego week 13 picture I took before I went to the doctor Friday morning. Scott got to hear the heart beat for the first time and the doctor said as far as he can tell everything is good! I've been feeling great and almost have my energy back that was zapped from me the first three months.

Mom and I went to Motherhood Saturday morning because I've been needing a new bra, BADLY. I found a lot of cute clothes but I'm not quite to where I need a lot of new tops yet so I refrained. Mom bought "Scott" the Astros onesie and I had to get the "this is how i roll" because I had just told Scott about seeing it in a magazine and he thought it was really funny and said we should find one!
Our baby is gonna be rockin' in his/her Beatles onesie. :) I love it!

Saturday night we had a date night at home. It was much needed. We made homemade pizzas and they turned out to be delicious. Scott made his and I made my own to my liking. It was fun being in the kitchen together, it seems like we haven't done that in a long time. I don't know why? We'll definitely be making homemade pizzas again.

Mine needed more cheese. I thought I used a lot and I'm the queen of cheese but it still wasn't quite enough. Surprisingly Scott had more on his than I did!

baby talk

I've been amazed at how generous and thoughtful people are. The day after Scott told his co-workers we were expecting his co-worker, Ashley, sent home a gift for me. It was "What to expect when your expecting", Fit Pregnancy magazine and a pregnancy journal. Super sweet! And I felt special that she went out of her way to go buy me these things as soon as she found out!

Mom got me a jogging stroller, which I can't wait to start using next spring to get my bootie back in shape!

Whit sent me the willow tree "new life". I love it! So precious.

Samantha, a friend from church, GAVE us a baby bed and bassinet! We are SO happy and shocked they just offered up their baby bed that had only been used for 1 week! Do you know how much money that saves us??? I'm still excited! We haven't put it together, (because we've got to get rid of the guest bedroom furniture first) but here's a picture of it.

Scott's step mother went crazy shopping at Carter's in Shreveport on the Boardwalk. She got us some of the cutest stuff! All neutral. Baby clothes are so soft and sweet! I think I looked through the bag 5 times daydreaming before I finally folded it all up and put it away. :)

LOVE these little hooded towels!

And this cute little 4 piece set :)

We just feel blessed to be surrounded by family and friends who love us and we get to share this exciting time with.

Somehow, I have managed to only buy one thing for the baby. Target has the cutest "Beatles" onesies! It's unisex, black and white. I can't wait to see my little man or baby girl with a big bow on her head in it.. too cute!

So, last night we were laying in bed and I was not sleepy and kept talking while Scott was trying to get to sleep. I told him our baby was still hungry (yes, I've been blaming the baby for things such as eating strawberry cake, craving cinnamon rolls and hating broccoli) so he got under the covers and started "talking" to the baby. In his Mexican accent. About a jalapeno farm? It was hilarious! He just started doing this Mexican accent recently and it cracks me up! He went on to tell the baby he was his Mexican father and would teach him all about the jalapeno farm. Yes, it sounds stupid, but it cracked me up! I've realized in the past few weeks when I think something is funny I can't stop laughing and get all teary eyed because I'm laughing so hard. I don't know if that's related to pregnancy? But I'd rather be laughing than crying!

This baby is going to have so much fun with his/her crazy daddy.

Zac Brown Band "Free" Late Night w/ David Letterman

At the beginning of the summer Scott text me from work and told me to listen to this song and said it's "our summer song". Little did we know how much "free" would end up meaning to us. (or maybe it's just me :)) Every since we've found out I'm pregnant I can't listen to this song without tearing up. Just because it's so true, this is "as free as we'll ever be". Of course I'm beyond ecstatic about having a little addition to our family, but the song just gets me everytime!

Listen and Enjoy :)
