It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!

It really has felt like Christmas is here since Scott has returned home. I love it! I love how our home feels, smells and looks. Here's some pics I snapped of our home at Christmas time :) I don't have alot of decor, but I imagine I will collect more over the years. Also, we have all our Christmas shopping done! WOO HOO!

Like my stockings???

So, a marriage is all about give and take. Well, I sure thought I was going to give in on Scotty's idea of making our own stockings this year. He was excited about it although I have no idea why considering we are two of the least artistic or creative people I know! So, he tried to make it fun. We made a special trip to Michael's and Hobby Lobby to find stuff to decorate our UGLY NEON RED (yes I say NEON because this is the most hideous red I've ever seen) stockings with. Well, apparently, this isn't a very popular idea because there's NOTHING like a kit or ANYTHING like that to decorate stockings with. I was actually surprised because don't kids want to like make their own stockings for fun?

Well, I thought I was going to throw a fit in the middle of Hobby Lobby like a 2 year old in a toy aisle because I was so frustrated and thought this "creative idea" of his had become ridiculous!! In the beginning I was trying to go along with his idea, but once it came down to it, I told him I really put time and effort into making our home look cute, especially right now at Christmas time I take pride in it and I was NOT hanging these hidious neon red stockings from our fireplace! We seperated in the store while he went to look at model airplanes or something weird like that and I stayed on the stocking aisle for a good 30 minutes picking out what I wanted. MIGHT I ADD that I went to Hobby Lobby about two weeks before this and picked out two matching stockings, one brown (his fave color) and one red (my fave color). Scott called me while I was there and I felt guilty for almost secretly buying the cute stockings since he had mentioned the idea of making our own and how much fun it would be! So, I put them down and checked out with just the wrapping paper I originally went for. Of course when we went back they only had the brown stocking and not the matching red one for me.

Oh well, I WON this one!!! And I found me another red stocking that is cute, too. It'll do for this year. It is our first year to even have stockings and it was an experience. Don't you just LOVE Christmas? :)

OH! And I told him once we have kids we are going to have to all have matching ones with monogrammed names and he said there's no way we are going to get our stockings monogrammed. He thought that was stupid. Crazy!

I'm so glad he's back home!

Scott got home last Thursday night and I took of Friday so we could go spend the day in Jefferson and go to Marshall that night for iceskating and Christmas lights. Well, this is why people say when you want to hear God laugh tell him your plans. We ended up in Shreveport on Barksdale AFB from 9-3 Friday. Long story.. let's not go there. So, when we left the base we were STARVING so we went to Superior (AND I needed a margarita after a long day of driving here to there on base and sitting and waiting!) We ran into Aunt Martha and Uncle Dave while we were at Superior so they joined us! Then, we went "by" which turns out being a couple of hours because their home is so relaxing and there's nothing like visiting with them. Had some coffee and dessert then had to drag scott off the couch so we could go to Marshall on our way home. (Original plan, SO down the drain!)

We had a great time in Marshall! We didn't iceskate because the rink is small and there were kids EVERYWHERE. Scott said he'd bust and take out a few kids and it wouldn't be a pretty sight, so I agreed and we just stood outside the rink and watched everyone. Maybe we are corrupt, but we had a blast cracking up laughing at these kids BUST IT! It was just too funny not to laugh!

We had our second date in Marshall. :) We were talking about it and did the math and it was the same week 5 years ago that we were there for our second date and first kiss!

We had my work Christmas party Tuesday night. We had alot of fun with my co-workers. I have worked at Century Bank/Wells Fargo for over 4 years and for 4 years I was at the same location. About 3 months ago I was moved to the Jefferson location. It's a long story, and I basically didn't have a choice and I was not happy about this in the beginning but now I LOVE my new branch and you couldn't make me go back to my old branch! Funny how things work like that. Here's a few pics for our dinner and party.

How cute is this ornament Ashley got me?

Here's Ashley and her hubby Jeremy

This is our whole branch! Love these guys.. we have fun!

Sweet Cymone! She loves Scotty-calls him her boyfriend!

Cymone and Bianca-If I ever think I'm bored a work I just go to the teller line and hang out with these girls because they are non-stop enertainment! They are HILARIOUS!

More Christmas fun to come! Can you believe it's less than a week away?!? Hope everyone has a great weekend!

handy dandy lint roller

Just thought I would share this with the few ladies who read my blog. I was cleaning house Thursday morning, anxiously awaiting Scotty's homecoming, when I was stumped on how in the world to clean a lampshade?!? Mine in the living room are an off white and I can see dust collecting on them. I've hit them, trying to get the dust off but that doesn't exactly work. I though about "googling" it or posting a question on my facebook status. When I had the bright idea to try my lint roller, and it worked awesome!

When Scott and I were walking into church Sunday morning I had on a black jacket and looked down and said DANG, I meant to use the lint roller this morning and forgot. Then I began to tell him about my new discovery of how to clean our lamp shades and he said that's a good idea, you should let other people know somehow. And I said OH! I can blog about it! So, there's a tip from me!

I'm Thankful for...

I know Thanksgiving has passed and all we can think about is Christmas-but I'm a little behind on my blog!

I'm thankful for..

God's beautiful creations..

My sweet cute husband..

It's the small unexpected things that make you smile..

I am HAPPY..

And new friends..

We went up to the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma during my last (THANK GOD!) visit to Wichita Falls. Scott had just been home the weekend before for the wedding but I made one last trip. Scott's become really good friends with a guy named Caleb whose from East Tennesee. His wife came in for the week and we'd become friends through facebook and part of the reason I made the trip up there was so we could meet! Cassandra is a sweetheart and we had a blast! We definately hit it off right away. She's silly and laughs alot! They ended up coming to Texarkana the day after Thanksgiving. We had a good visit and hope to get to see them again someday soon.

Thanksgiving Day!

I'm thankful for...

Still being considered a kid and get to sit at the "kids" table..

These sweet (yet miserably full) brothers..

Sisterly love.. These girls are precious! LOVE THEM!

My big, loving family..

The blessing that God has given Scott's family of this precious baby girl, Ashtyn..

A sweet mother-in-law that I love and sweet little niece..

I know Scott is thankful for being at home, eating his favorite peanut butter pancakes, bacon and sipping on coffee all morning..

My girls who I've been so lucky to stay in touch with and we are always there for eachother through thick and thin.. We missed Megs this weekend! LOVE :)

We got to meet Huckabee!

Thanksgiving weekend was BUSY BUSY but we had a great time! We went to Linden first thing that morning and I helped Scott's Mamaw cook Thanksgiving lunch. She taught me how to make her famous dressing and homemade icing for a cake. She is so sweet and non-stop! I swear this woman has more energy than anyone I've ever met. I love her so much and Scott thinks the world of her. They are extremely close and she thinks the world of him, too.

We stopped by Scott's Dad and step mom's house to see his sister's before we left to head to Shreveport. We had lunch in Shreveport with my family and had a great visit. We were outside most of the afternoon. The weather was perfect! I love Thanksgiving day, it seems like the weather is always beautiful and the perfect temperature and we end up outside all day after stuffing ourselves.

After being with my family in Shreveport, we headed to Atlanta to be with Scott's mom, brother and sister (Hope) and her family. We had an awesome dinner and an even better visit. It was a fun-filled day!

mom asks "what's up with your blog"

SO, It's been awhile!!! Quick catch up...

Me and Lee, Scott's little brother, went to Wichita Falls to visit.. hmm about a month ago!? We ate, shopped (imagine that) and went to see Law Abiding Citizen. It was awesome! Can't wait to see it again

I went to Amber's birthday party with Sancha at Park Place.. Amber is Sancha's cousin, but also one of my friends from church!

we made a very quick trip to conway to see woody (paul's friend) play. He plays for Texas State San Marcos. They beat UCA in a very close game! I can't remember the score, but it was a close and exciting game!

Jac and Josh are officially THE THANE'S! We had rehearsal dinner at Park Place. Scott got in town right when the dinner was over. Us girls went to Timothy's for a bachelorette party and the guys went to Ice House. Scott met up with the guys then us girls met up with them later. Scott and I took a picture of us when we got home. It was his first time home in 2 months! He said it felt weird coming in our house. I told Roy that (our friend from church who was in Iraq for a year) and he said when he got home he went all through the house and opened every drawer and closet and just roamed around trying to get to know his home again. I can't imagine! It was so nice having my hubby in our house for a weekend.. made it a home again!

Scott's family came over Saturday for lunch. Scott was dying to see Ashtyn. She is so much fun and loves her Uncle Scotty! We had a great visit.

OH YES-we had fun at the wedding! Jawbone played and they were so much fun!!! Scott and I CUT-A-RUG!!! Let me tell you.. we LOVE to dance! :) It was the best weekend!

I'll post Thanksgiving later....
