I've been M.I.A.! My internet was down when I got back for Wichita Falls and I finally sucked it up and called windstream last night to get it back up and running! I hate calling them because they are always so unfriendly and make me feel like an idiot (which I am when it comes to computers!) but I got it all fixed up now.
I had a blast during my 5 days with Scott. He was off on Monday so we got to enjoy a three day weekend together! It was wonderful. We seriously did nothing but EAT and SHOP! We found some great deals and some fun new resturants. We also went downtown to some cool antique shops. We LOVE roaming around and digging through peoples old junk.
Scott's brother, Lee, is going with me this weekend and we plan on hitting up the good eating spots again. :)

This antique store is in an old bank and this is the original vault door. It was huge!

Do I look serious about these ribs? Because I was!!! This place was a DUMP on the outside and looked like a run down bar but the BBQ was delish!

Scott with his extra large beer at a local burger joint we discovered.

El Gordo's is a Mexican resturant downtown we went to after antique shopping all morning.

This is the kind of plane Scott will be working on once he gets back home and has drill on weekends at Barksdale. I can't remember what it's called. But it looks MEAN!

hog wild honey do!

We had a shower for Josh Thane and Jaclyn Howry Saturday night during the Arkansas vs. A&M game. We had a blast! Great food, great company and an even greater game!!! WOOO PIG SOOOIEEEE! Everyone at the party was a hog fan, except 2, one LSU and the other, A&M. So, in the end everyone was happy but the A&M fan. Josh and Jac are getting married November 14th.. she's going to make a beautiful bride! And Josh is going to be an awesome husband. Enjoy the pics :)

Gettin' ready to CALL THE HOGS!

girl time with the new's!

My cousin, Jennifer, and her little girl, Katy, came to visit me last week. We had alot of fun! They got in town Tuesday afternoon and we met over at Mom and Dad's for dinner. Paul and Luke were home so we all got to hang out and visit and play with Katy. About 15 minutes before we left mom and dad's, Katy was playing on the recliner that mom was sitting in and she jumped off and landed on her arm, on top of my high heel shoe that was laying on the floor. (she had been prancing around in them earlier) She cried pretty bad but it didn't look like it was that bad and her arm wasn't swollen, so we carried on. Well, when we got home and gave her a bath, she wouldn't use her arm for anything and was crying that it hurt. Jennifer knew it wasn't like Katy to let a little pain slow her down so we started to worry that something was wrong. So, their first night of vacation, we were at Heatlh Care Express at 10 o'clock at night. Luckily, the doctor said that he thought it was dislocated(at her elbow) he pulled on it, x-rayed it and said if she didn't feel better in the morning it may be a sprain. Thank God the sweet girl felt brand new the next morning! So, it must have been dislocated and the doctor popped it back in place. He said he was hard to tell on toddlers if it's out of socket because their bones aren't fully developed yet.

I took off work Wednesday and Thursday to be with them. Both days the weather was beautiful! We went to Ironwood Wednesday for lunch, sat outside and let Katy play in the sand box, then to the park. Katy fed the ducks and ran around everywhere. She loved it! We took a nap, watched Under the Tuscan Sun, played with Katy, ate dinner and just hung around the house. Wednesday, we went shopping at BJaxx and B Hive, went to Starbucks for a treat then back by mom and dad's to visit with them some more. I think Katy is going to grow up to be a shoe designer, she LOVES shoes!!

She loves my shoes! She stayed enertained for hours in my closet!

We put this big dishtowel on her like a cape then she wanted it tied up some more and she couldn't move her arms. It was hilarious watching her walk in heels like this!

these are a few of my favorite things

Paula Dean's Pecan Pie candle from Wal-Mart.. it's a perfect fall candle and smells up the room in no time! You need to get one!

"Just for one" peas and corn in a basil butter sauce.. they are delish! And only 80 calories

I can't get enough tomatoes these days! And I love this cute red bowl I found at the thrift store on base in Wichita Falls.

Every night before I go to bed I have a cup of hot tea.. it's so yummy and relaxing!

SKYPE! We have a 9:00 date every night on the webcam. I took this picture of Scott last night.. he has these different things he can put on the screen like hats, glasses, facial hair.. it's hilarious! I feel boring though because I don't have all the fun gadgets so I just sit there and laugh at him.

wichita weekend #1

I made the trip to Wichita Falls Friday after work. I got off work 3 hours earlier than planned and I was sooo excited! I was out of town by 2:30 and made it to Wichita Falls right at 7:30. It rained on me a few times, but for the most part the drive was great. Today on my way back the weather was gorgeous and I made it back in just a little over 4 hours. I only stopped once and the traffic wasn't bad at all. We had a wonderful weekend and it was so good to be with my hubby. We relaxed, ate alot, drove around and explored to city some, Scott showed me around base, we shopped a little and watched football. A perfect weekend. :)

This is Pioneer Diner, we passed by it while driving through downtown and thought it looked cool (we actually though it looked like a place you'd see on Diners, Drive ins and Dives) so we went there for lunch on Saturday.

I'm happy :) It was delicious! They had a huge menu-Scott had a cheeseburger and onion rings and I had beef and chicken enchiladas.

YUM-O!

This is a pretty lame picture-not much to choose from for a good background in a little hotel room. But this is us before dinner Saturday night. We went to a place called McBride's Steakhouse. It was VERY good. We'll for sure be going back there and to Pioneer's.

TOLD YA SO! Here we are at Pioneer's again! There's three of them in Wichita Falls that we know of. We tried out one of the other ones for breakfast Sunday morning. And we were not disappointed.

Scott played "Love me tender" and sang to me. I was embarrassed and he was cracking me up. We were impressed with the little jukebox things at each table. Pretty cool!

"you gotta learn to reduce reuse recycle"-jack johnson

It's been one week and one day without my best friend. It hasn't been too bad but it's only the beginning. I've held up very well and actually have surprised myself. I feel safe at night with our alarm system installed and I've been sleeping great except for waking up in the middle of the night a few times but I usually go right back to sleep. I talk to him several times a day so that helps and I'm going to see him this weekend! :) I can't wait to get there!

Sometime in this past week I decided to start recycling. One reason is because I have to take out the trash now and I realize how much we are throwing away. Also, because about a month ago I saw these pictures on my cousin, Jennifer's facebook of her little girl Katy recycling. I thought if a two year old is doing it, I need to be doing it! Texarkana use to have the big orange bins you put out with the trash cans to recycle but I don't ever see them anymore. I guess I'll just take my stuff to the bin at the school. Maybe Texarkana isn't "green"??? Here's Katy recycling and my bags that I'm seperating everything into, too.

Look what I had when I got home from work Thursday. God gave me a rose! I never water this or do anything to the flower bed that Scott has told me is mine to take care of and roses keep popping up!

shop-therapy

So, Scott left Monday about 11 am. He made it to Wichita Falls safe and sound and is trying to get adjusted to his new life for the next three months. He said today went good but he just really hopes this time flies by.. he's already ready to get home. He said he misses me already.. :) :( So sweet!

Before he left on Monday he told me to go buy myself a few things. He knows how to make me happy! Little did he know I was already planning on doing just that. But it made me not feel guilty about going since he told me to! I racked up on some good dress pants for work at JC Penney. They fit really cute. A Black pair, black tweed pair and some that are like brown and cream. I found a picture on their site for the black pairs. They were only $15 and the brown $20!

Mom and I went shopping for Bunco gifts at Kirkland's, Hobby Lobby, Pier 1 and B Jaxx. I did suprisingly good. They had tons of fall stuff which is mine and Mom's favorite!!! I'm dying to go to Canton but that means giving up a weekend that I already have scheduled to go to see Scott, so that's not happening.

Hope everyone has a good (short!) week! :)
